Venom and Eddie Brock

 
Movieverse. I think I have seen fics going two different ways about how things can go from "goodbye, Eddie" to them being together again: either they really get separated, then meet again (and Venom is likely to be pathetically weak and the host, if any, is a rat or a seagull or a dying human or something), and Eddie has the chance to say yes to the bond and everything, OR it's only an apparent separation and Venom is in fact weakened almost to the point of death, but not quite dead, and still in Eddie where they can safely recuperate (and it can take some time before Eddie hears Venom's voice in his head again or gets any other signs tat V is still there and alive). And the second way has its charm and poetry, but it bothers me that it seems to leave no room for Eddie to consent to the whole forever thing. Somehow can't see them negotiating it once they are in the same body and Venom is no longer vulnerable, and I need that consent moment desperately to be able to enjoy the idea of them as a married couple madly in love.

Thoughts? Ways around it? Can you see it happening at the moment of the kiss, that is, would Eddie know what he's signing up for?
